Two brothers.
One phone call.

Then the agents build it.

floor7pod is Mark and Matthew Carlson on the phone for about twenty minutes, raw and uncut. Whatever they dream up, AI coding agents go and build. The finished build moves into its own room on Floor 7, right next to the episode, and you get the key.

    Mark Carlson

Built Floor 7: Journey to the Center of the HighYatt, the game this whole hotel comes from. Has been to Floor 7. Is still finding confetti.

    Matthew Carlson

Co-dreamed Boaty McBoatface over the phone with Mark, then watched the agents build it. Picks up on the first ring. Usually.

The method

Call. Transcript. Agents. Room.

  1. The call

Mark and Matthew get on the phone for about twenty minutes. No script, no second take, no edits. That call is the episode.

  2. The transcript

Every word gets written down, including the half-finished ideas. Especially the half-finished ideas.

  3. The agents

AI coding agents read the transcript and build whatever got dreamed up. The brothers mostly try to keep up.

  4. The room

The finished build moves into its own room on Floor 7, right next to the episode. You get the key.

Why uncut

The good part is the part you'd normally edit out.

Most ideas sound worse before they sound better. We keep the before. You hear the idea arrive, get argued with, get a dumb name, and then you get to walk around inside whatever it turned into.

  • No edits. The call you hear is the call we had. Pauses, tangents and all.
  • No prep. Ideas show up half-baked and leave that way. The agents finish the baking.
  • Everything gets built. If it gets dreamed up on the call, the agents take a swing at it.
  • Every build gets a room. You can walk into it straight from the episode page. Bring your key.

Where is this, exactly?

The HighYatt.

A surreal luxury hotel from Mark's game. It has 88 floors and exactly 1 room. Everyone inside, from the bellhop to the pharmacist on Floor 5, is thinking about the same thing: Floor 7, where the party never stops, the fireworks never run out, and somebody is always chanting "Floor seven! Floor seven!"

This podcast is what happens up there. Every episode checks into a room in the 700s. Episode 1 gets Room 701.
